What dates should I reserve when trying to rent my timeshare?
.......... Due to travel concerns related to COVID-19, we expect that drive-to destinations will likely have a higher rate of success as more people choose locations that are closer to home and avoid air travel. Changes in event schedules may also have a big impact on demand. Until the situation improves, a good strategy for a point based ownership will be to book something close to your home so that if it does not rent successfully you will still have the option for personal usage. Also, if your ownership allows points to be moved into a future use year that may also be a viable strategy to delay usage. The guide below is still expected to be a fair representation of normal demand trends for the future......
One of the most frequent questions we are asked is "What dates should I book with my timeshare?".
Timeshare rental demand often follows the same trends and patterns year to year. Special events and weather conditions will cause slight fluctuations- but for most floating usage and points based timeshare systems the top reservations are normally consistent from year to year. If you own a floating or points based timeshare and are not sure what reservations will give you the most rental potential- the recommendations below should help!
Florida timeshares:
Orlando and Central Florida:
- Last week of March to the middle of April (Spring break and Easter holidays)
- Month of July (Summer break)
-Last two weeks of December (Christmas and New Years holidays)
-Also, check event calendars for Disney's Wide World of Sports complex, the Orlando Convention Center, and the Daytona Ocean Center. Sporting events and large family oriented conventions such as MegaCon are also great targets for reservations. Be sure to pay attention to youth sports such as cheer/dance events, and team sports such as baseball/softball/volleyball tournaments. Two-bedroom and larger units are often in high demand during these events. The dates often vary from year to year, but investing the time to do a little research is always worth while.
