Pool resurfacing has been delayed slightly. New closure dates are expected to be from April 21 to May 12. As always, dates are subject to change.
The pool is scheduled to be resurfaced at Wyndham Beach Street Cottages and is expected to be closed to guests from early-April until the first week of May. Dates are subject to change. Guests staying at this property no longer have reciprocal usage at other Wyndham resorts in the area. Marriott OceanWatch Villas in Myrtle Beach are scheduled to undergo full interior renovations which will be completed in stages to minimize disruption. Work is scheduled to begin in early-September 2025 and extend through late-March 2026. Workers, equipment, dust, odors, and noise may be experienced by guests during this spam. All amenities are expected to remain open during the construction.
This property has been reported by guests to have ongoing issues with staffing, maintenance, and security. An examination of public reviews posted on various travel sites may confirm these issues. There have also been a number of complaints regarding potential safety concerns on Coki Beach, which is the primary beach access for this property.
We are currently recommending travelers check recent reviews before choosing this destination, and we are not currently accepting rental listings for this resort. Beginning February 18th, 2025 the casino at the Rio Mar Resort in Puerto Rico will be closed for renovation. Work will occur daily during daytime hours, so please anticipate construction noise during this time. Reopening is tentatively scheduled for late July 2025.
*** A reopen date has been given for the kids pool to reopen at the Rio Mar Resort in Puerto Rico. It is now expected to reopen in late-Feb to early-March. The waterslide will remain closed to guests. *** The waterslides at the resort have been closed to guests. No information has been released as to why they are closed or if they will be reopened. Beginning early September to late November 2025, Vistana Beach Club will be undergoing villa interior refurbishment. Work will occur daily during daytime hours, so please anticipate construction noise during this time. All resort amenities are expected to remain open and fully operational.
In addition, the South end of our Ocean Front Building will undergo extensive concrete work during this time which will involve noisy concrete demolition at times, and workers moving around guest areas, particularly at the South end of Building 1. We are sorry for the inconvenience during this time. *** Vistana Beach Club will undergo a building project scheduled from May 1 through June 15, 2023. Dates are subject to change. The Clubhouse pool area will be closed for refurbishment from Sept. 15, 2025 to Oct. 10, 2025. All other resorts pools and amenities are expected to remain open during this time.
*** Parking lot construction will occur from Jan. 1, 2025 to May 31, 2025. Some parking lots will be closed during this time. Please anticipate construction noise during business hours. *** Villa refurbishment is scheduled from early January to early June 2025. Please anticipate workers, noise, and smells will be experienced during this time. *** Marriott’s Cypress Harbour Spa will close on Dec. 1, 2024. No new reservations will be taken until further notice. The pool deck at Marriott BeachPlace will be resurfaced from Feb. 1 to Feb. 21, 2025. The work will be completed in sections and the pool is expected to stay open during the project but guest may be inconvenienced with workers, noise, and smells as well as lowered capacity. All other resort amenities are expected to remain open and fully operational for your enjoyment. *** Beginning October 2023, Marriott’s BeachPlace Towers will be completing construction projects in our public spaces’ areas and guest hallways. Regarding view types at this resort: Oceanfront units are higher floors located in the Scallop, Starfish, and Conch buildings. Oceanview units are higher floors located in the Maple, Pine, and Magnolia buildings. Oceanside units are lower floors with pool and courtyard views in the Scallop, Starfish, and Conch buildings. Gardenview units are lower floors in the Maple, Pine, and Magnolia buildings. Final room assignments are determined by the front desk at check in so no specific unit placement of floor can be promised at this resort.

*** The Ford’s Colony community is constructing residential townhomes adjacent to Marriott’s Manor Club - Sequel. Active land and building development is ongoing. Please expect visual and audible construction work and heavy machinery throughout 2025. Check in at this resort is after 5pm.
This resort requires a resort fee estimated at $60 for guests, exchanges, and Club Wyndham owners. Mobility accessible units are extremely limited at this resort. If you are mobility challenged, you must arrange for an accessible unit prior to check in; either via Club Wyndham owner services or RCI Member Services. The front desk staff cannot provide these accomodations on day of arrival. On the day you arrive, send a text with the word SMUGGS to (855) 421-2279. This property operates with a Comfortable Carrying Capacity on the mountain. This means that during busy times, overall lift ticket sales may be limited or even restricted from guests of owners. Also, guests of owners may not receive access to some resort amenities which may include pools, exercise facilities, and some programs or activities. Ocean Drive has been permanently closed to vehicles and the entrance to the property is open to foot traffic only. For ride-share guests, there is a drop off point at the corner of Collins Avenue and 14th Street about a block away. For guests with vehicles, parking in local garages is necessary and requires a daily fee which is estimated at $60. A garage is located about two blocks from the property.
Mobility challenged guests should always call the front desk at 786-517-6200 for updated information about parking and to determine any type of transport or assitance is possible from the garage to check in. *** Villa refurbishments are scheduled starting September 2023 until mid-October. Marriott’s Harbour Point and Sunset Pointe will be undergoing an enhancement project from Nov. 1, 2024 through May 1, 2025. During this time, guests may experience view disruptions. Construction workers, equipment, and noise may be experienced between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.
